Anna Newhoff NCR Reporter   Callahan First Baptist Church breathes new life into a piece of local history with the recent purchase of the Brandies Avenue commercial buildings. The two-story buildings are the oldest brick buildings in Callahan.
Verizon currently assists customers in the parking lot of Callahan’s former Burger King. The wireless company will renovate the restaurant into a store. A new Burger King is planned north on U.S. 1 near Tractor Supply.

P&Z board approves Verizon’s site plan

Anna Newhoff NCR Reporter   Verizon renovations at the old Burger King will soon begin in Callahan.  Contractor Jeff Borden told the Callahan Planning and Zoning board Monday that the building’s interior will be completely demolished and the exterior will receive several updates.

Campers hone basketball skills

Olympians meet in Hilliard

Amanda Bishop NCR Editor & Publisher Team Splash brings Special Olympics swimming to Hilliard. The Area 4 team has new coaches on deck and a dedicated team of community volunteers.  The team held its first practice at the Town of Hilliard’s pool Monday.

Redemptive Love Church invites everyone to its new location at 542233 U.S. 1, Callahan. The church held its first service in its new home Sunday. Worship begins at 6:30 p.m. at the contemporary Christian church, which formerly met in a local home for the past year and a half.
