REVISION

The Town of Callahan, Florida, and Nassau County, Florida, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the communities intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located between State Road 15 (U. S. Highway 1) on the east and the CSX railroad to the west.  The flood hazard revisions are being proposed as part of Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) Case No. 21-04-4290P for a project on the north bank of Alligator Creek.

As a result of the revision:

1.         The floodway will be revised along Alligator Creek from a point just upstream of State Road 15 to a point approximately 1,670 feet upstream of State Road 15. 

2.         Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) will increase along Alligator Creek.

3.         The SFHA will increase and decrease along Alligator Creek.

The Town of Hilliard Planning and Zoning Board will hold a Public Hearing at 7:00 P.M. The School Board of Nassau County will soon consider a measure to continue to impose a 1.500 mill property tax for the capital outlay projects listed herein. This tax is in addition to the school board’s proposed tax of 4.003 mills for operating expenses and is proposed solely at the discretion of the school board.

The proposed combined School Board tax increase for both operating expenses and capital outlay is shown in the adjacent notice.
