Middle school band earns ARIAS grant

Local music educators who submitted grant applications to the Nassau Education Foundation received financial awards that will enhance their programs, with funding contributed by ARIAS. The winners included the
Callahan Middle School music program. Additional grants were awarded to Fernandina Beach Middle School and Emma Love Elementary School.

“These grants were awarded after compelling applications from our Nassau County music educators, including Callahan Middle School Music Director Paul Arnold,” said Sheri Van Orden, who serves as ARIAS president.

In addition to music education programs, ARIAS sponsors bus service from Yulee and Amelia Island to Jacksonville Symphony concerts. ARIAS also presents local concerts featuring ensembles from the symphony twice each year.

ARIAS is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Jacksonville Symphony. The ARIAS mission is to create awareness of the symphony in Nassau County, encourage county residents to attend performances and to enhance music education in Nassau County schools.
