Teens ages 12-18 are invited to jump into the fun at Act Up! Theatre Games Workshop: React, Connect, and Create. This free high-energy theatre workshop is designed to get young people moving, laughing, and creating together.
The one-hour event will take place Jan. 30 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Callahan Train Depot, 45383 Dixie Ave., as part of the 14th Annual Nassau Art at the Callahan Depot.
Led by Toni D’Amico, founder of Blue Fire Theatre, the workshop uses fast-paced theatre games and improvisation to build confidence, spark creativity, and encourage teamwork in a fun, supportive environment. No acting experience is needed – just a willingness to participate and have fun.
“Act Up! is all about reacting in the moment, connecting with others, and creating together,” said D’Amico. “Whether you’ve never been on stage or already love performing, this workshop is a chance to try something new and express yourself.”
Open to all skill levels, the workshop focuses on movement, voice, and ensemble-based activities that help teens feel more confident both on and off the stage. Participants will leave energized, inspired, and ready to take creative risks.
Now in its 14th year, the Nassau Art at the Callahan Depot celebrates the arts and brings together artists, educators, and community members from across the county. This workshop is free, but preregistration is encouraged, as space is limited. Young artists in Nassau County are also encouraged to submit artwork.
