Another career training program will soon be available for Nassau County’s students – welding technology.
Nassau recently received $506,500 in funding through the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant. This will provide comprehensive welding technology curriculum that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
State-of-the-art welding labs, equipped with the latest tools and equipment, will provide students with a learning environment where they learn various welding techniques and technologies.
“We’re excited to provide yet another opportunity for our students to receive the training and skills necessary to enter the workforce in Nassau County,” said Superintendent Kathy Burns.
The Nassau County School District’s welding technology program will focus on technical proficiency and emphasize essential skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking, ensuring that students are well-rounded and prepared to excel in the workforce.
This pre-apprenticeship will help prepare students as they pursue successful careers in industries such as manufacturing, construction, aerospace, and automotive.
