For the Record
A development group has announced a masterplanned residential racetrack community near Yulee.
North Florida Motorsports Park is set to merge a professional racetrack with residential units on 600 acres, a press release said. The project partners include Hall of Fame driver Bobby Rahal, NF Sports Development, M2 Real Estate Advisors and Atlanta Motorsports Park.
It will feature a track designed by the three-time IndyCar champion and 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner Rahal, trackside residences and on-site villas, garage facilities, a private membership club and sporting grounds, along with a spectacular public karting track for “all ages and skill levels.”
The luxury development will be near Interstate 95 and County Road 108, the release said. A map of the development also shows an RV park, boat dock and lake, and a shooting club on-site.
“This region has an incredible automotive culture, and North Florida Motorsports Park will provide enthusiasts with an exceptional venue to celebrate that passion,” Rahal said in the release. “We’re creating more than a racetrack, we’re building a community.”
NF Sports Development’s Bruno Fusaro said North Florida Motorsports Park represents the “evolution of automotive lifestyle communities.”
“We’re creating an environment where driving enthusiasts can pursue their passion while enjoying world-class amenities and the camaraderie of like-minded individuals,” Fusaro said. “The public karting facility will ensure North Florida Motorsports Park serves as an accessible gateway to motorsports for families and aspiring racers, while the private club and residential components will cater to serious collectors and driving enthusiasts.”
M2 Real Estate Advisors President Michael McNaugh-ton said the development is where passion and property intersect.
The development can be transformative for the county, Nassau County Manager Taco Pope asserted.
“This project blends innovation, recreation and economic development in a way that strengthens our community and elevates our region,” Pope said. “We are proud to welcome a world-class motorsports destination.”
