A Crescent City man died after he was struck by two vehicles Wednesday night.
According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, the 59-year-old had been involved in a single-vehicle crash on Ford Road in Bryceville. He left the accident and was walking down the middle of the U.S. 301 westbound lanes just after 9:30 p.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer. He died at the scene.
The pickup truck was driven by a 43-year-old Tallahassee man. The driver of the tractor-trailer was a 68-year-old man from Bristol, Tenn.
It's noted in the press release that the pickup driver was in the inside lane and unable to react in time, striking the Crescent City man with the front right of his truck, which placed the man in the path of the tractor-trailer, which hit him with its left front.
FHP troopers discovered the deceased man's vehicle at its accident during the course of their investigation.
