The old Hilliard Town Hall is coming back into service. A few departments will now be working out of the old building, located at 15879 W. County Road 108.
Town hall moved in July 2007 to its current location, 15859 W. County Road 108.
The move is underway and staff plans to be fully functioning out of the building after Thanksgiving. The departments moving include code enforcement, planning and zoning, public works administrative offices. Building permits will relocate in early January. This location will be the permanent offices for these town staff members.
The building will still be used as the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office stop station. This is where deputies can stop and use the restroom, do paperwork, eat dinner, etc.
The south end of the building will remain the Town of Hilliard’s Volunteer Fire Department.
Office hours for the select departments are by appointment only as the staff transitions to the old building.
“We are working quickly to have the office open to the public and plan to have the same business hours as Town Hall,” Land Use Administrator Lee Anne Wollitz said. “This office will have a direct phone number which is not assigned at this time. However, we can be reached by email or by calling Town Hall. Those contact methods will not change.”
