Members of the Nassau County Chamber of Commerce and Nassau County commissioners celebrate the opening of HCA Florida Yulee Emergency with HCA CEO Reed Hammond and the medical staff March 31. The 11,000-square-foot emergency center had a soft opening March 10. It is open 24/7 and features 10 private rooms, a trauma bay, and CT, ultrasound and X-ray machines. Future plans for the land parcel include a full-service hospital and medical offices. A helipad will also be added eventually, though helicopters can land in the current parking lot now if needed. HCA is the third free-standing emergency room facility to be added near Wildlight. Baptist Hospital and UF Health also have ER facilities. Submitted
