Melinda "Linda" Sure Geiger
Melinda “Linda” Sue Geiger passed peacefully Nov. 12, 2018 at age 63, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in 1955, Linda blessed the lives of her parents, Claudean and John England, as the first of five children. With her father in the Air Force, young Linda moved quite a bit in her childhood. Her siblings, Lisa, Dana, Becky and David, came into her life during these years, each enriching her life with their own challenges and accomplishments. Her sisters will always grieve their loss, the three musketeers reduced to two in the blink of an eye. Though sadness now envelops their world, the enduring memories of joy and love will crest again.
Her children stand as testament to her success as a mother. They cherish the years of love and joy she brought to their lives. And although they will continue to miss their mother for all time, they have the lessons she taught them to live by. These are the wisdoms passed to them with love, which will guide them through the journey of life. DeAnna Arowood now has a family of her own and shows the same spark of infinite love inherited from her mother to her daughter Raven; and Jason Geiger grew into a sensible, strong and kind man.
Friends and family alike will remember her friendship, feisty disposition and love for animals. Although she endured 20 years of dialysis, she was always good for a laugh or a chat. Linda cared deeply for those around her as a true friend should. Although she didn’t have much, she was always willing to give when hard times came, and if she felt something needed saying, it got said.
So, to all those missing Linda, we offer a simple poem, author unknown: “Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day; unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, still very dear.”
A celebration of her life will be held Dec. 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. at 13725 Lake Fretwell St., Jacksonville, Fla.
