The Hilliard Town Council proposes to adopt the following ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 2019-01

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF HILLIARD, FLORIDA, CHANGING THE

FUTURE LAND USE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY CONSISTING

OF 4.08 ACRES, MORE OR LESS LOCATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF

U.S. HIGHWAY 1 BETWEEN COUNTY ROAD 108 AND EASTWOOD ROAD,

HILLIARD, FL, NASSAU COUNTY PARCEL #16-3N-24-2320-0007-0020,

FROM AGRICULTURAL CLASSIFICATION TO INDUSTRIAL CLASSIFICATION;

AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE COMPREHENSIVE

PLAN OF THE TOWN OF HILLIARD TO REFLECT SUCH CHANGE; PROVIDING

FOR SEVERABILITY; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

A Public Hearing on the ordinance will be held on March 21, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., in the

Council Chambers in the Hilliard Town Hall, located at 15859 West County Road 108,

Hilliard, Florida, to hear input regarding Ordinance No. 2019-01. All interested parties may

appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed Ordinance No. 2019-01.

A complete legal description by metes and bounds and a copy of Ordinance No. 2019-01,

which is proposed for adoption is available for inspection and copying in the office of the

Town Clerk during normal business hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

or at www.townofhilliard.com.

BEACH COMMUNITY 

WORKING GROUP

The Board of County Commissioners has formed a Beach Community Working Group consisting of Michael S. Mullin (County Manager), Taco Pope (Director of Planning and Economic Development), Doug Podiak (Facilities Maintenance Director), Gil Langley (Executive Director of the Tourist Development Council), Butch Osbourne (Nassau County Sheriffs Office), Mac Morris (Ex-Officio Member) and Lowell Hall (Ex-Officio Member) to review current beach related Ordinances and use of the beach and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners as to any amendments to beach ordinances in relation to beach use.

The Working Groups first meeting will take place in the Commission Chambers, located at the James S. Page Governmental Complex, 96135 Nassau Place, Yulee, Florida on the following date and time:

February 26, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.

There will be other announced meetings.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF NASSAU COUNTY, FLORIDA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 97-19, AS AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE NASSAU COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, SPECIFICALLY AMENDING SECTION 28.02 BY REMOVING MOTHER-IN-LAW DWELLING AND GUEST HOUSE AND ADDING ACCESSORY DWELLING; AMENDING SECTION 28.14 BY REMOVING MOTHER-IN-LAW DWELLING; AMENDING SECTION 28.15 BY REMOVING GUESTHOUSES AND ADDING ACCESSORY DWELLINGS; AND AMENDING ARTICLE 32, DEFINITIONS, BY REMOVING GUEST COTTAGE OR HOUSE AND SERVANTS QUARTERS AND ADDING ACCESSORY DWELLINGS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearings and to be heard.  Copies of the proposed Ordinance and supporting information are available for inspection in the Department of Planning and Economic Opportunity, 96161 Nassau Place, Yulee, FL 32097.  Comments may also be directed in writing to the Department of Planning and Economic Opportunity, e-mailed to planninginfo@nassaucountyfl.com, or received by telephone at (904) 530-6300.  All comments will become part of the record in this matter and subject to Floridas public records law.

THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO BE PRESENT AND BE HEARD.
